Hotel Equatorial - Penang

Last month, we attended a wedding reception at Hotel Equatorial Penang and booked a one night stay there. We stayed in a deluxe room equipped with Internet Protocol TV (IPTV). There's a variety of channels, including complimentary blockbuster movies on demand. You can stay whole day long in the room watching TV!

 Clean, comfy and spacious room but looks a bit old. Our room comes with a king size bed, private balcony, dressing area, high speed internet access, individual controlled air conditioning, coffee or tea making facilities, mini fridge, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water, hairdryer, in-room safe, iron & ironing board, bathrobes, toiletries and slippers.

Spacious bathroom comes with an individual cubicle shower and bathtub. Hot shower was great with good water pressure. Hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, waterfall, outdoor fitness trail, gym, cafe and barista. However, pool facility is not supervised by lifeguards. Hence, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Guest can also enjoy the outdoor jogging trail and hiking track but at their own risk. Sunrise between 7.15am to 7.30am. Sunset between 7.30pm to 7.45pm.

Hotel Equatorial provides free airport shuttle and pick up point is at Arrival Hall (Gate 6). Besides that, free shuttle to City centre, Queensbay Mall, Gurney Plaza and Batu Ferringhi are available as well. Pick up and drop off points are at the same location. Arrival time stated on the brochure are approximately only and shuttle time may be amended at any time subject to events, closure of roads and celebrations.

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. So here we at Jollibee located inside Landmark Department Store just 4 minutes (250m) walking distance from  New World Makati Hotel . We ordered 2 pieces of chicken served with rice and drink. Rice is soft. Fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. It comes together with a brown gravy which taste like KFC mashed potatoes gravy. Overall it's good. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
