Canton-I, Sunway Pyramid - Petaling Jaya

Two weeks before Chinese New Year we had our gathering at Canton-I, a Chinese Restaurant. Only five of us managed to make it except Eason. Due to our hectic lifestyle, it's quite difficult gather everyone together. Mike was very keen on their Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot also known as "Poon Choi" while me on the other hand wasn't very keen. "Poon Choi" is a traditional Chinese dish packed with layers and layers of dishes and served in a "basin".

Canton - I has this Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot promotion of RM 468 for 6 to 8 pax. It consists of braised premium Australian abalone (12 heads), sea cucumber, Japanese dried scallops, Japanese dried oysters, premium mushrooms, Pantai Remis fresh sea prawns, roast chicken, braised trotters, golden money bags, pork balls, dried beancurd skin, yam, black moss, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, deep-fried beancurd skin, radish, braised oyster and abalone sauce. (Total 18 ingredients, weight 9 pounds)

We ended up having this Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot for dinner. We kick start our meal with a plate of Salmon "yee sang", tossing to an auspicious start and fruitful 2017. I quite like "yee sang" because it has this flavourful mixture and you get to taste the combination of sweetness, sourness and crunchiness. However, Canton-I "yee sang" tasted so-so for me. I don't really enjoy their "yee sang" combination. Apart from that, I was quite disappointed with their Prosperity Abalone Treasure Pot. The sea prawns were soft and mushy. Overall, it wasn't a superb dish.

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. So here we at Jollibee located inside Landmark Department Store just 4 minutes (250m) walking distance from  New World Makati Hotel . We ordered 2 pieces of chicken served with rice and drink. Rice is soft. Fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. It comes together with a brown gravy which taste like KFC mashed potatoes gravy. Overall it's good. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
